Photodex

On the Windows side, a lot of people are using software from Photodex. This includes Pro Show and Producer. One problem, however, is that the software is really tied to Windows. They have a website on which you can post shows (here's an example), but if you're a Mac users, you're out -of-luck. Why? The site requires a downloadable plugin that's Windows-only. Fortunately, one can create MPG's and Flash shows with some of the programs.

Jalbum

Jalbum - a Java-based program (so it runs on almost anything). It caters to both those with a fear of web design as well as those who relish jumping into HTML code to fix stuff. (Here's an example of a show from their site.) What's really nice is that there are lots of people developing "skins", which are the templates that give Jalbum its variety...so it gets better and better over time.
